  1. Can you explain the Presbytery in this context please? I grew up knowing it as the 'house where the priest lived". In my large drawing of Saint David's, the view is of the Presbytery as a large section of the Cathedral.

    Similarly here, in Rievaulx Abbey.

    Widget "C" notwithstanding.

  2. Hi, John. Thanks for your Comment.

    Presbytery originally meant "the part of a Church reserved for the officiating Clergy". It is in this context that the photograph, above, refers to.

    In more recent times, however, it has become to be used to refer to "the house of a Roman Catholic Parish Priest".

    It is not impossible that some Parish Priests may have Widget "C"s installed in their Presbyteries. Vatican II does not mention it.
