Chant And Polyphony For Parish Musicians In The Pittsburgh Area.

The Saint Gregory Institute of Sacred Music, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, invites the public to attend three Masses, which constitute the culmination of its Chant and Polyphony for Parish Musicians Course, on 22 July 2019 - 24 July 2019.

The first Mass will be held on Monday, 22 July 2019, The Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene, at 6:30 p.m., at Holy Trinity Church, with English Propers and Chants from The Roman Missal. The Church is located at 5718 Steubenville Pike, in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania.

The second Mass will be on Tuesday, 23 July 2019, The Memorial of Saint Bridget, also at 6:30 p.m., at Holy Trinity Church (as above), featuring English Propers, The Missa de Angelis, and a Motet by Thomas Tallis.


The third Mass on Wednesday, 24 July 2019, at 5:00 p.m., will be a Votive Mass of The Holy Spirit, Celebrated in The Extraordinary Form, at Saint John of God Parish (Saint Mary Church), with The Gregorian Propers in Latin, The Missa Secunda of Hans Leo Hassler, and Polyphonic Motets. The Church is located at 1011 Church Avenue, McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania.

The Choir will be under the direction of Professor Nicholas Will, the Founder and Director of The Saint Gregory Institute of Sacred Music, Director of Liturgical Music at The Pontifical North American College in Rome, and Co-ordinator of The Sacred Music Program (in absentia) at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
