  1. Indeed, Zephyrinus: Christmas hymns and carols are a wonderful reminder throughout the whole month, until February 2nd, of the beauty of the season.

A very dedicated religious sister, who however is in the Novus Ordo practice, confided to me two days ago that she felt very sad that, now after Epiphany, they had to put away the manger scene and the Christmas decorations, because now that odd 1960’s creation, “Ordinary Time,” had begun.

The ancient traditional Roman liturgical cycle of four weeks of Advent, roughly 2 weeks of Christmas season, and then up to six weeks of Christmas/ Epiphany season, makes much more sense in order to be able to more fully ponder the mysteries of the Incarnation.

    1. An excellent summation, Dante P, with which Zephyrinus totally concurs. Long may the ancient traditional Roman Liturgical Rite continue.
