for those devoted to His Sacred Heart.

The Promises of The Sacred Heart of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque:

"I will give them all the Graces necessary in their state of life.

I will establish peace in their homes.

I will comfort them in all their afflictions.

I will be their secure refuge during life, and, above all, in death.

I will bestow abundant Blessings upon all their undertakings.

Sinners will find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.

Lukewarm Souls shall become fervent.

Fervent Souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.

I will Bless every place in which an image of My Heart is exposed and honoured.

I will give to Priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.

Those who shall promote this Devotion shall have their names written in My Heart.

I promise you, in the excessive mercy of My Heart, that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion, on The First Fridays in nine consecutive months, the Grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in My disgrace, nor without receiving their Sacraments.
My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment."

Pope Saint Pius X. Feast Day 3 September.

Pope Saint Pius X
(Latin: Sancte Pie Decime).
Feast Day 3 September.

Text from Wikipedia - the free encyclopaedia,
unless otherwise stated.

Pope Saint Pius X (Italian: Pio X) born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto (2 June 1835 – 20 August 1914), was Pope from August 1903 to his death in 1914. He was Canonised in 1954. Pius X is known for vigorously opposing Modernist interpretations of Catholic Doctrine, promoting Traditional Devotional practices and Orthodox Theology.

His most important Reform was to order the Codification of the first Code of Canon Law, which collected The Laws of The Church into one volume for the first time. He was also considered a pastoral Pope, in the sense of encouraging personal holiness, piety and a daily lifestyle reflecting deep Christian values. He was born in the town of Riese, Italy, which would later append "Pio X" (Pius X's name in Italian) to the town's name.

Pius X was particularly devoted to The Blessed Virgin Mary under the specific title of Our Lady of Confidence; his Papal Encyclical Ad diem illum expresses his desire through Mary to renew all things in Christ, which he had defined as his motto in his first Encyclical.

Pius X believed that there was no surer or more direct road, than by The Virgin Mary, to achieve this goal. Pius X was the only Pope in the 20th-Century with extensive pastoral experience and implementation at the Parish level, which led him to favour the use of the vernacular language in teaching Catechesis, while the encouragement for frequent reception of Holy Communion became a lasting innovation of his Papacy.

His immediate predecessor, Pope Leo XIII, had actively promoted a synthesis between The Catholic Church and secular culture; Faith and science; and Divine Revelation and reason. Pius X defended The Catholic Faith against popular 19th-Century attitudes and views, such as Indifferentism and Relativism which his predecessors had warned against as well.

He followed the example of Leo XIII by promoting Thomas Aquinas and Thomism as the principal philosophical method to be taught in Catholic institutions. Pius X vehemently opposed Modernism, which claimed that Roman Catholic Dogma should be Modernised and blended with 19-Century philosophies. He viewed Modernism as an import of secular errors, affecting three areas of Roman Catholic belief: Theology; Philosophy; and Dogma.

Personally, Pius X combined within himself a strong sense of compassion, benevolence and poverty, but also stubbornness and a certain stiffness. He wanted to be pastoral, in the sense that he was the only Pope in the 20th-Century who gave Sunday Sermons in the Pulpit every week.

After the 1908 Messina earthquake, he filled The Apostolic Palace with refugees, long before the Italian Government acted. He rejected any kind of favours for his family; his brother remained a postal clerk, his favourite nephew stayed on as village Priest, and his three sisters lived together, close to poverty, in Rome. He often referred to his own humble origins, taking up the causes of Poor People. I was born Poor, I have lived Poor, and I wish to die Poor.

During his Papacy, some of the World-renowned Marian images were granted a Canonical Coronation, namely the Our Lady of Aparecida, Our Lady of the Pillar, Our Lady of the Cape, Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquirá, Our Lady of the Lake of Saint John, Our Lady of La Naval de Manila, Our Lady of Carmel of New York, and The Immaculate Conception within The Chapel of The Choir, inside Saint Peter's Basilica, were granted its prestigious honours.

Considered a holy person by many, public Veneration of Pope Pius X began soon after his death. Numerous petitions resulted in an early process of Beatification, which started in the 1920s, and which resulted in his Canonisation on 29 May 1954.

The Society of Saint Pius X, a Traditionalist Catholic group, is named in his honour. A gigantic statue of him is enshrined within Saint Peter's Basilica, while the town of his birthplace was also renamed after his Canonisation.

Kent Firemen Help Guide Dogs Prepare For A Life Of Service.

The Guide Dogs meet Firefighters for the first time.

This Article can be read in full at KENT FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE

Ashford Fire Station, Kent, welcomed visitors of a different kind this week, as the Charity "The Guide Dogs" brought in ten of their pups in-training for some unique experiences.

Puppy walkers and Guide Dog trainers, from Ashford and surrounding areas, took their pups, including some experienced and some at the very early stages of training, to the Henwood, Ashford Fire Station, on Tuesday, 29 August, to experience the sights and sounds they will come across when they become working Guide Dogs.

Puppy Training Supervisor for The Guide Dogs in South Kent and East Sussex, Jay Taylor, said: “We’re so grateful to the Fire Crews in Ashford and to Kent Fire and Rescue Service. It’s such a great opportunity to help prepare our puppies for the real world. Good socialisation is crucial for each dog to succeed in training, and for when they’re placed with their new visually-impaired owners.”

The Guide Dog visitors and Ashford, Kent, Fire Crews.

The unique visitors to Ashford Fire Station come every six months, as part of the ongoing training programme, and have done for the last couple of years. A similar programme is about to start in North Kent and East Kent in the coming months.

The Fire Station Green Watch Manager, Andy Harris, who organises the training visit in Ashford, said: “The Crew thoroughly enjoy having the pups here. It’s a great opportunity to help such a crucial service in our community in providing their new recruits with a good grounding. We have some loud vehicles and can certainly help the pups get ready for a life of service, just like our Firefighters - it’s a great synergy.”

The following Text is from Wikipedia - the free encyclopaedia.

Beneventan Chant is a Liturgical Plainchant repertory of The Roman Catholic Church, used primarily in the orbit of the Southern Italian Ecclesiastical centres of Benevento and Monte Cassino. It is distinct from Gregorian Chant and related to Ambrosian Chant.

It was officially supplanted by the Gregorian Chant of The Roman Rite in the 11th-Century, although a few Beneventan Chants of local interest remained in use.

During the Lombard occupation of the 7th-Century A.D. and 8th-Century A.D., a distinctive Liturgical Rite and Plainchant Tradition developed in Benevento. It included Feasts of special local importance, such as The Holy Twelve Brothers of Benevento.

At the time, it was called Cantus Ambrosianus (Ambrosian Chant), although it is a separate Plainchant Tradition from The Chant of Milan, which we call Ambrosian Chant. The common use of the name Cantus Ambrosianus, the common influence of The Lombards in both Benevento and Milan, and musical similarities between the two Liturgies and Chant Traditions, suggest a Lombard influence in the origins of Beneventan Chant.

Saint Giles, born in Athens, distributed all his patrimony to The Poor and followed Jesus (Gospel). Several Miracles having made him celebrated, he fled to Provence, France, to escape away from honours. He lived in Prayer and Meditation (Introit) in the depths of a vast forest, with no other food but roots and the milk of a tame Hind.

One day, when pursued by the hounds of the Visigoth King, Wamba, The Hind fled to the grotto of the Saint, who, while trying to protect her, had his hand pierced by an arrow. The King, on his arrival, urgently begged the Saint to consent to the building of a Monastery on the spot.

The Holy Hermit undertook its governance and, like Moses among The People of God (Epistle), he became The Chief and Law-Giver of a numerous Monastic family which followed his leadership, his Doctrine, and his Counsels (Communion). This happened in 673 A.D.

The Abbey of Saint Giles, a marvel of architecture, became one of the most frequented resorts of Pilgrims in The Middles Ages, and a Town arose there. The Counts of Toulouse regarded it as an honour to bear this Saint's name.

The ancient Missals place him among "The Fourteen Auxiliary Saints". He was invoked in France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, and England, where 146 Churches were built in his honour. Saint Giles died about 721 A.D. His tomb was discovered in 1865.

Twins, who were born conjoined, and given just a 20% chance of survival, are preparing to start School.

Rosie and Ruby Formosa were joined at the abdomen, and shared part of their intestine, before they had an emergency operation to separate them in 2012.

Their mother, Angela Formosa, said the four-year-olds, from Bexleyheath in South-East London, were "very excited" to be starting School.

"Four years ago it wasn't in my mind that this would ever happen," she said.
