Wonderful images, Dom Zephyrinus. I recall being told that two of the ancient English Catholic rites were the Hereford Rite and also the Sarum Rite (they were suppressed at Trent for uniformity of the Roman Rite, but nonetheless they were very reverent and profound).
Again, Thank You, Dante Peregrinus, for your most welcome Comment and encouragement. One of the Treasures in my Library is a Modern Reprint of The Hereford Breviary. It is fascinating reading. Much better than waving at all the others in the Congregation at Mass and singing Happy Birthday to Betty (who makes the coffee after Mass). The Modern Liturgy is soooooooooooo-lacking in Reverence, Relevance, and Catholicity.
