Not one guitar in sight. No Bongo Drums. No Clown outfits. No waving at everybody else to say “Peas”. No dancing. No singing of “Happy Birthday” to anyone in “the audience”.
For example (regarding Crazy Liturgies): The Puppet Mass still has a play in the US.
In the Minneapolis-St Paul Diocese (which has had several bad ordinaries), at St Joan of Arc "Catholic Community," the "puppet Mass" is still the rage on Palm Sunday annually. Here is a view from 2018, but I understand it is a standard every year.
Thank You, Dante Peregrinus, as always, for your welcome Comments.
The antidote, of course, to all the banalities, mentioned above, is to undertake Lenten-Tide with the appropriate devotion, conviction, attention to The Liturgy, and a proper sorrow for our Sins and a firm purpose of amendment.
One picture. Says it all.
ReplyDeleteReverence. Devotion. Adoration.
Beautifully stated, Dante Peregrinus.

Seriously, one could go on and on.
Amen, Amen, Dom Zephyrinus!
