It is highly recommended that, before visiting Saint Mary’s Church for the Requiem Masses, a confirmation telephone call is made to ensure the correct times of Masses.

During the week of 9 - 15 January 2023, there will be talks and book signings by two authors and historians.

Ed Shawcross gives talks on the extraordinary life of Emperor Napoleon III and, also, on the foreign policy that led to the military defeat of France at Sedan by the Prussian Armies.

Edward Hilary Davies gives a talk on “The British Bonapartes”. This gives a different perspective on Emperor Napoleon’s life, with a focus on his time in England. It is said that the Emperor’s visit to Southport, Lancashire, was the inspiration for the re-design of Paris.

Other talks include Frances Foster and Joanna Friel, who look at the diplomatic dilemma caused by giving hospitality to France’s exile.

Plus, a talk from Felix Zorso, Assistant Curator at The Wallace Collection, who will tell the story of how the Dining Room Panelling at Camden Place came from The Chateau de Bercy, France.

All events are by Ticket Only and details can be found HERE

All tour and talk income will go towards the conservation costs of this very important building.
