Our poodle, Gemma is quite the "Artful Dodger." We have learned not to leave fowl or meat on the counter even momentarily. When she was 2 years old, we had cooked pork sliced and ready to be put away, when we were distracted. Later Mrs Peregrinus asked, "Where is the sliced pork?' We found the empty tray on the counter...and then, checking further, we found some suspicious grease marks on a bed spread in the extra bedroom, her special retreat.
And she wasnt hungry for her dinner that night... nor the next morning..." Born hunters." - note by Dante Peregrinus
Yes! Quite the "bird dog."

A riveting and heart-warming tale, Dante Peregrinus. Thank you for this Comment.
