The Cathedral of Covington, Kentucky, contains an unusual series
of Stained-Glass Windows illustrating Dogmatic and
Administrative Decrees of Popes and Councils.
They are evidence of the central role that The Pope and The Vatican had assumed in Catholic culture by 1914. Here, Blessed Pope Pius IX (“Pio Nono”) is proclaiming The Dogma of The Immaculate Conception (8 December 1854).
