Zephyrinus (leaning out of the Locomotive's Cab) tries his hand at driving a Steam Locomotive in Hungary. Meanwhile, Chauffeur Perkins (he wanted to come along on the holiday) takes boiling water from the Locomotive's Boiler in preparation for making Zephyrinus's Afternoon Cup of Tea. Two local Railway Workers decided to join in the photograph.

  1. Alien! Alien Z! (The Hungarian word 'éljen' is pronounced as the English word 'alien', its meanng is 'long live', 'hip hip hurrah'!)
If you happen to arrive on 20 August, I will be on the streets with some other hundreds of thousands of Hungarians all cheering you!

  2. What a lovely invitation, Cus. I am most grateful.

Thank You, also, for the Hungarian language lesson. Zephyrinus is in Budapest (that beautiful City) on 20 August and will look forward very much to being greeted by “hundreds of thousands of Hungarians”. Nagyon szépen köszönjük.

  3. Very interesting -- not to be greeted as "Alien! Alien!" but as "Welcome! Welcome!"

I am fond of the view of Zephyrinus looking into the distance to Hungary-land: But it appears the canines (are they poodles?) appear distinctly "unimpressed." (If they are poodles --- we have poodles---and they are difficult to impress and keep occupied. We are teaching them chess to play with each other). - Note by Dante P

    1. Thank You, Dante P, for your kind Comment. I am sure my Hungarian Readers will give me a typically warm Hungarian welcome. It is always a great pleasure to visit Hungary, and Budapest in particular.

Pleased that you like the photo (see, above) of Zephyrinus and his Poodles (they are Standard Poodles). It was taken on Zephyrinus' Scottish estate up in The Highlands during a rather cold Winter morning.

Wikipedia states the following about Standard Poodles:

The tallest among all the Poodle varieties, the Standard Poodle is at least 38cm in height and weighs up to 35kg.

It was the first of the Poodle breeds to be developed and today remains one of the smartest, most trainable breeds. They are elegant and energetic, excelling in obedience and agility competitions. Much like Chauffeur Perkins, actually (except for the obedience bit).

Standard Poodles also make great watchdogs, protective but not aggressive, with an attitude towards people that can range from friendly to politely reserved. Again, much like Chauffeur Perkins.
